Is Creator’s Mod Depot free?
Yes. The plan is for creators to publish mods without upload or hosting fees and for players to download approved mods at no charge. The site intends to fund operations with clearly identified advertising.
Which games will the site support?
We are building the first release around American Truck Simulator (ATS) and Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2). We may consider other games later after reviewing their distribution rules.
Can I upload or download mods today?
Not yet. Creator accounts, mod uploads, approvals, and downloads are not live. The current website is a pre-launch preview.
What is the 15-day New Mods section?
After launch, the homepage will highlight mods that were approved and published within the previous 15 days. Older mods will remain accessible in the regular game listings.
How will I create a creator account?
Once registration opens, creators will sign up, verify their email, and use a private dashboard. We will publish the final registration steps after account security has been tested.
Do I keep ownership of the mods I upload?
Yes. A creator keeps whatever rights they legally hold in their original work. Uploading will grant limited permission to host and distribute an authorized file; it will not transfer copyright or ownership. Any voluntary ownership transfer would require a separate, explicit written agreement.
Can I update or remove my mod?
That is part of the planned creator dashboard. Updates will undergo review before becoming public, and creators will be able to manage or request removal of their own listings, subject to legitimate safety or legal retention requirements.
Which mod file formats will be accepted?
At launch, we plan to accept only .scs mod files for ATS and ETS2—no .zip, .rar, .7z, or installer files as the outer upload. We will inspect the contents as well as the filename.
What information is required with a mod?
A 640 × 360 thumbnail, game selection, mod name, creator identity from the account, mod version number, compatible game version, written description, and the .scs file. A creator’s YouTube video link is optional.
Why is my upload not available immediately?
When the upload system launches, new files and replacement versions will remain private while file validation, malware inspection, and administrator review are completed. No creator can approve their own file.
Can I link a YouTube showcase?
Yes. We plan to offer an optional YouTube video link on each mod page. It must be relevant to the creator’s listing and comply with our published rules.
Will visitors need to pay or click advertisements to download?
No. Approved mod downloads are intended to be free. We will not require ad clicks, and the genuine download button will be clearly separate from advertisements.
What if a mod does not work with my game version?
Check the compatible ATS or ETS2 version shown on its page and read the creator’s instructions. If a listing is incorrect or broken, use the reporting contact so we can review it.
Are published mods guaranteed to be safe?
No file-hosting service can promise that. Our planned process includes file validation, malware inspection, private quarantine, and administrator approval. A future “Security Reviewed” label will mean that a specific file version passed those checks, not that it is risk-free.
Will creators see downloads and views?
Yes, the planned dashboard includes per-mod views, completed-download statistics, lifetime totals, and trends over time. It will not display visitors’ private personal information to creators.
Will my statistics reset when I update a mod?
No. We plan to keep lifetime statistics with the mod listing and track individual versions separately so creators can compare their performance.
How do I report a suspicious or stolen mod?
Please use our Report a Concern page or contact the support address with a description and the relevant page URL. Do not email executable files, malware samples, passwords, or anyone else’s private information.
How do I make a copyright complaint?
Contact support@creatorsmoddepot.com with “Copyright concern” in the subject and identify the original work, the allegedly infringing material, and how we can contact you. A formal copyright/DMCA process is being prepared before hosting opens.
How do I report a website security problem?
Email support@creatorsmoddepot.com with “Security report” in the subject. Briefly describe what you observed and include the affected page. Do not send passwords, live exploits, or harmful files through ordinary email.
How is my account information protected?
The public site already uses HTTPS and Cloudflare protections. Before creator registration opens, we plan additional account safeguards and a final Privacy Policy explaining what information we collect and how it is handled.
