Trust & Safety
Creator's Mod Depot is being built as a free mod-hosting community. We believe visitors deserve clear information about current website protections and the safeguards we are building before mod uploads begin.
Protections on our current website
Our website uses HTTPS and is hosted behind Cloudflare. The administrator has enabled firewall/managed rules, DDoS protections, browser integrity checking, and bot controls. These services help reduce certain risks but cannot guarantee that an attack will never succeed.
How future mod uploads will be reviewed
- Creator accounts will be verified and access-controlled.
- ATS and ETS2 files will be limited to
.scsuploads; the actual file structure and embedded content will be examined. - New and replacement files will be kept outside public download access during quarantine, scanning, and manual review.
- Only approved, published files will be linked to public mod pages.
- Creators and rights holders will have channels to report malware, copyright issues, and inaccurate listings.
What our review labels will mean
Once operational, “Security Reviewed” will indicate that a particular version completed the site's specified inspection and approval process. It will not mean that the file is guaranteed safe or that the game publisher endorses it.
Creator rights and public safety
Creators retain ownership of work they are entitled to distribute. Hosting will require a limited license to provide the service, not a transfer of copyright. The site may disable unsafe or unauthorized files without taking ownership. Full Creator Terms, copyright reporting, account privacy, and moderation procedures are being prepared before registration opens.
Before we open
We will complete legal documents, contact and complaint channels, abuse reporting, account security, administrator workflows, file scanning, and practical security testing. Our future advertising will not be disguised as download links.
